Relief Residential Counsellors:

As a relief staff working within our residential treatment programs in Brampton and Caledon, you will play an important role in the implementation of treatment plans while ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients.  Our residences are staff operated by Child and Youth Counsellors working 8 to 12 hour shifts.

Opportunities also exist for contract and/or relief staff with our In Home and Preschool Services.  Both Services require the ability to work independently either in the client's home setting or within a licensed child care setting.  All positions require the ability to work flexible hours on an as needed basis.

Candidates must have a Child and Youth Worker diploma or a three-year Community College diploma in a related field with a minimum of one year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and eligibility for membership in the appropriate professional association.  In addition, applicants who have completed two years of a Child and Youth Worker diploma will be considered for night relief work. A valid driver's licence, First Aid Certificate, and Physical Intervention Training Certificate (UMAB, PMAB, CPI) as well as a recent (within 6 months) Police Reference Check are essential.

Our hourly relief rate is $18.39 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation time (total $19.86). Professional training in understanding and managing aggressive behaviour (UMAB) is provided as well as other professional development opportunities.

Interviews for relief positions are held on a regular basis.  Selected applicants will be asked to attend a panel interview with supervisors from milieu services. Should you be selected for an interview you will be asked to bring with you three professional reference letters, along with contact telephone numbers for each reference.
