Moncton Residential Treatment Program:

What We Offer

Peel Children’s Centre is pleased to operate two 8 bed, co-educational residential treatment programs for Maritime youth between the ages of 11 to 19.

Peel Children’s Centre’s residential treatment programs provide safe, accepting and supportive environments that offer temporary out-of-home treatments for youth. Residential treatment is viewed as an opportunity for youth and their families/caregivers to reconstruct relationships through both individual and group sessions. As each member learns how to negotiatie new solutions, the main objective of residential treatment is to ease the youth's return to the community.

The length of treatment varies depending on the needs of the youth. On average, it is expected that residential stays will range from 8-10 months.

Eligibility

Appropriate referrals to these residential treatment programs are those youth who are experiencing serious social, emotional and/or behavioural challenges. Given the nature of residential treatment, youth require an IQ of 70+ (verbal and full scale).

All treatment admissions are planned.

Residential treatment requires family/guardian involvement. The referral source (case manager) also remains involved with the youth throughout residential treatment, contributing to case planning and discharge planning.
Residential treatment is available on a per diem basis.
