NYC offers both informal and formal services to support youth who may be experiencing a range of social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties.
NYC provides services and resources to assist youth in coping with a variety of challenges, such as: lack of school success, violence, sexual abuse, marginalization, financial difficulties, housing issues, first-time parenthood and peer-related issues.
Interventions and resources are provided in a manner that will increase youths'
The program's long-term objective is to support youth to become positively engaged with the community while successfully transitioning from adolescence to adulthood.

Formal Programming is designed for youth who prefer non-traditional support relationships and outlets, and wish to interact with other youth. A variety of structured and facilitated groups are offered, which evolve according to the expressed needs and interest of the youth.
Groups at NYC are offered in four broad categories:
All services at NYC utilize youth engagement strategies. Youth are actively involved in the planning and implementation of programs and services, allowing them to gain valuable leadership skills and have a direct impact on their youth community.
Additionally, high school students are provided with opportunities to earn their 40 hours of community service required to graduate, either through participation in formal programming or by taking on a more formal volunteer role. Other youth interested in becoming formal volunteers are also offered a variety of volunteer opportunities. NYC also regularly provides co-op field placements to secondary and post-secondary students.
