Mental Health and Addictions:
Our
Mental Health and Addictions (Concurrent Disorders) Program is designed to increase the use of evidence-based treatment in serving youth living in the Region of Peel who have mental health and substance abuse problems.
Who is eligible to use this program?Service-providers in the Region of Peel who work with youth with mental health and substance use problems are eligible for this program. The service areas that use this program include
- children’s mental health agencies,
- service providers specializing in substance use,
- Peel Children’s Aid Society, district school boards, hospitals, Peel Public Health, youth justice sector, transitional housing agencies, and
- other service-providers who work with youth.
What do we do?We offer training about evidence-based treatment of youth who have problems with mental health and substance use. Our aim is to provide knowledge and build capacity to help these youth.
We also offer case-specific consultations for anyone in the Region of Peel working with a youth having mental health and substance use issues. These consultations are designed to reinforce information learned during training and to customize the treatment of individual youth.
