Our Mental Health and Addictions (Concurrent Disorders) Program is designed to increase the use of evidence-based treatment in serving youth living in the Region of Peel who have mental health and substance abuse problems.Who is eligible to use this program?
Service-providers in the Region of Peel who work with youth with mental health and substance use problems are eligible for this program. The service areas that use this program include
- children’s mental health agencies,
- service providers specializing in substance use,
- Peel Children’s Aid Society, district school boards, hospitals, Peel Public Health, youth justice sector, transitional housing agencies, and
- other service-providers who work with youth.
What do we do?
We offer training about evidence-based treatment of youth who have problems with mental health and substance use. Our aim is to provide knowledge and build capacity to help these youth.
We also offer case-specific consultations for anyone in the Region of Peel working with a youth having mental health and substance use issues. These consultations are designed to reinforce information learned during training and to customize the treatment of individual youth.

Community agencies and staff who work with children and youth can access our Concurrent Disorders Program by calling 905-795-3500 and asking for the Clinical Coordinator for Concurrent Disorders.
