The Arson Prevention Program for Children (TAPP-C)
The Arson Prevention Program for Children (TAPP-C) is an out-client service that provides fire-safety interventions for children prone to generating fires.
This program is a collaboration between Peel Children's Centre and the Fire and Emergency Services of Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon.
Who is eligible to use our program?
The TAPP-C program is for children under 18 years of age who live in the Region of Peel and have been involved with setting fires. These children and their families must also be willing to participate in a mental health assessment. The purpose of these assessments is to identify if there is a hidden mental health issue contributing to the child's tendency to set fires. At Peel Children's Centre, we believe that early intervention is the first step towards effective mental health treatment.
