Child Witness Preparation ProgramOur Child Witness Preparation Program is focused towards supporting children who have witnessed or experienced sexual or physical abuse. This educational program helps young victims cope with the stress and pressures associated with their upcoming criminal court appearances.
Who is eligible for our program?Children under 18 years of age who live in the Region of Peel, the Region of Halton, or Dufferin County, are eligible to participate in our program.
- if they experienced or witnessed sexual or physical violence, and
- if they are required to appear in criminal court as a witness.
The program also helps children under 18 years of age who live outside these areas but are required to testify in a criminal court located in Peel, Halton or Dufferin.
What do we do?
We prepare children for their testimony in court. We support these children emotionally, reduce their stress, and educate them about court procedures.
We offer this service in the office, community, or home.
