Crisis Response ServicesOur Crisis Response Services provide immediate help for children having a significant mental health crisis. We provide a two-tiered response by telephone and on-site visits to the child’s home or school, or another location in the community.
Who is eligible for our services?Our services are for children having a serious mental health crisis
- who are under 18 years of age, and
- who live in the Region of Peel.
What do we do?We provide a two-tiered response to children under 18 years of age having a mental health crisis. These services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- On the telephone, our trained health professionals assess the crisis and the risks, and initiate the measures needed to stabilize the situation.
- When these activities are not possible by telephone, our trained health professionals visit the child’s home or school, or location in the community. We assess the risk and initiate a safety plan on-site.
- We coordinate services with other agencies, such as Peel Children’s Aid Society and hospitals.
- We arrange for follow-up services.
- If needed, we provide interim counselling until longer-term services can be established.
