What do we do?
Our Group Services give children and parents the opportunity to learn from each other. All groups provide information and resources on specific topics.
Our child and parent treatment groups run concurrently to allow continuous learning. In each program, children and parents gain the necessary management skills that will help them resolve future everyday challenges.
Children and youth can also benefit from our psycho-educational, life-skills and social-skills groups. Here, clinicians provide information and facilitate group discussion and problem-solving.
Educational groups for parents are accompanied by supervised children's activity groups, where children develop social skills in a structured setting with peers.
Depending on the nature of the group, participants range from 6 to 25, and typically last from 6 to 10 weeks. The following is a list of groups that we currently offer:
Childcare is available for some groups.
Peel Children’s Centre is grateful to receive generous financial support from RBC Foundation for our Group Services.
