Volunteer Program
Our Volunteer Program offers a wide variety of programs that support and enhance the services offered by Peel Children's Centre and Nexus Youth Services. These programs are staffed with dedicated volunteers from the community.
This program is made possible with generous financial support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Who is eligible for our program?
Our Volunteer Program is for clients of Peel Children's Centre and Nexus Youth Services who need the services that our volunteers provide.
What do we do?
Our volunteers provide a wide range of services, for example,
- transportation for families struggling to commute to Peel Children's Centre,
- one-on-one tutoring and mentoring for children having difficulties with schoolwork,
- on-site childcare for parents attending Peel Children's Centre educational, support or counselling sessions,
- assistance finding books and materials that may help or be of interest to parents,
- host families for Children's Mental Health Respite Services of Peel, and
- assistance with fundraising and special events throughout the year.
How can you access these services?
To access these services, parents or caregivers should contact the Child and Family Clinician who works with their child.
How can you become a volunteer?
People who want to volunteer to help in theis program can call Peel Children's Centre at 905 - 795 - 3500 and ask to speak to one of our Volunteer Coordinators.
