The Valley Infant Parent ProgramThe Valley Infant Parent Program is designed to improve the quality of the caregiver–infant attachment relationship for children at risk. The program is a partnership with the Region of Peel, Children’s Services, and Peel Children’s Centre.
Who is eligible for our program?We offer this program for caregivers
- who are living in Region of Peel and have an infant or toddler 30 months or younger,
- who may be coping with multiple stressors, including substance use, adoption breakdown, postpartum mood disorder, or other mental health issues, and
- who may have an infant or toddler who has attachment problems or developmental delays.
What do we do?We offer a half-day program, five days per week, at the Mississauga Valley Childcare Centre for caregivers and their infants. We also provide intensive, flexible, in-home children’s mental health services. The program includes psychological consultation and assessment when warranted.
All staff are trained in infant development, infant mental health, and attachment intervention to support positive relationships.
Referring partners for this program are
- Healthy Babies, Healthy Children – Peel Public Health,
- Peel Children’s Aid Society, and
- Peel Infant Development – Trillium Health Centre.
How can you access our program?To access our program, referring partners complete the referral package, then submit it to the Region of Peel, Children’s Services.
