Alternatives to Day Treatment:
Alternatives to Day Treatment ProgramIs your child feeling sad or angry and behaving badly around others? Are these problems likely to cause your child to lose his or her place at school?
If you are not sure about how to deal with your child’s problems at school, our Alternatives to Day Treatment Program can help you. Our program can teach your child the skills needed to stay in his or her current school.
Can your child take part in our program?Your child can take part in our program
- if he or she is between 5 and 14 years old,
- if he or she is having many mental health problems, and
- if he or she goes to a school in some areas of Brampton or Mississauga, in either the Peel District School Board or the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.
What do we do?We will give your child treatment at school. We will help your child
- feel better about himself or herself, and
- learn how to get along with others better, for example, with classmates and teachers at school.
And because children do better with their family's support, we hope that you will take an active part in our program.
In our Alternatives to Day Treatment Program, we will build on your child’s strengths.
How can you find out more about our program?Your child's school will need to call Peel Children's Centre and tell us that you are interested in the Alternatives to Day Treatment Program for your child.
