Can your child use our services?
Your child can use our Counselling Services
- if your child is under 18 years old and lives in the Region of Peel,
- if your child’s problems are not too serious, and
- if we think counselling on a regular schedule can help your child manage his or her problems.
What do we do?
We will help you and your child deal with difficult times in your life. And we will help your child learn how to get along with others at home, at school, and in the community.
We start by giving you a one-time appointment, called Single-Session Therapy. You will come to this first appointment to talk about your problems. You will be able to get as many of these appointments as you need. If you need more than 3 appointments, you will have 2 choices:
- you can make as many appointments as you need, but you may see a different mental health worker each time, or
- you can choose to meet with the same mental health worker each time, but there will be a waiting period to get a worker you will see on a regular basis.
